Monthly Newsletter June 2007
To all MSIS Addressees,
The
weather was very
hot but Marsh Creek was in great shape and had very
fast, hard greens. They putted very well. The
length of the course, ay 6062 yards, is just about
right for us seniors.
The average gross score was 92.2,
which is 5
stokes higher than last
month at St Johns. Head
Golf Professional Cary
Splane and his staff did a
great job for us. I
found not a single error that they made. The
scorecards and scoreboards were perfect. Thanks to
Team Rep, Dave
Spring and the 3 other volunteers
from Marsh Creek, Dennis
Donahue, Odie
Skeen and Sonny
Hubbs.
I thought the food was excellent. I
heard no complaints from any of you.

SCORECARDS
The
scorecards were as good as usual this month. Poor
legibility caused 2 errors at the scoring table.
Another card had four "7x" scores shown on it. That
caused another 2 errors.
Please use a zero
(0) for ALL pick up holes,
not "7x" or any other stroke controlled score. Just
use a "0" (zero) !!!!! There are
two simple but effective rules to follow:
1) Player
completes a hole - Enter actual gross score
2) Player picks
up - Enter a zero but
NOT an 'X' nor an
adjusted score
Remember the
computers will make all adjustments and convert
zeros to the correct adjusted score but . . . . . .
. the computer cannot work with "X"s.
Much
thanks to all of
those who helped out with
the computer
scoring at Marsh
Creek: Roy
Gulick MP,
John Pujol QH, Larry
Von Dolteren SN, Dave
Spring MC, Dennis
Donahue MC, Sonny
Hubbs MC and Odie
Skeen MC.
Zero
errors were made by
the Scoring Committee. That
is two months in a row that they have done a perfect
job! The volunteers did a great job! Please
thank them when you see them.
We do not take responsibility for those errors made
above as they were caused by scorekeepers and
players.
NEXT MONTH

Palencia Club, Monday July

ARTICLES
Articles of interest to
MSIS members are accepted and will be published in this report.
Just email your article to me. You must sign it.
I am sure that you all see
or hear things at our matches that would be of interest to us
all. Funny stories about things that happen on the course.
They don't have to be the absolute truth! Brag about a great
hole you played or a great shot you hit. Here again, you may
stretch the truth. Write them up and send them to me. It would
make this a much more interesting publication. If I don't get
some input on this publication soon, I will assume no one cares
about it and it will be discontinued.
